The University of Missouri may have many unclaimed automatic scholarships which could offer an excellent opportunity for educational funds to assist students who want to complete a higher education. These potentially unclaimed scholarshipsdo not have to be repaid back and over the course of the last year, undergraduate students at the University of Missouri received more than $600,000 in automatic scholarship assistance.
Several automatic scholarships are offered through the University of Missouri. Students are automatically considered for these scholarships when they are admitted to the university. There are also other University of Missouri scholarships available which students can apply for using the school’s scholarship application.
In order to be eligible for University of Missouri automatic scholarships, applicants are required to enroll at the University at the Columbia campus during the fall or spring semester following their graduation from high school. There are several automatic scholarships available to first-time college students who are residents of Missouri.
To qualify for the Excellence Award students must be in the top half of their graduating class, have a composite score on the ACT of 27 or higher or a combined math and critical SAT score of 1210 or higher, be a Missouri resident, a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and enroll at MU during the first semester following high school graduation. Students must also graduate from an accredited high school. Students graduating in the top half of their class with the required SAT/ACT scores will receive $1,000 while students graduating in the top 25% of their class with the required ACT/SAT scores will receive $2,000. The Curators Scholars Award is awarded to students who are in the top 5% of their graduating class and who also have a combined math and critical reading score of 1250 or higher on the SAT or a composite ACT score of 28 or higher. The scholarship award amount is $3,500 per year and is renewable for another three years. No application is required for this automatic scholarship. Students are automatically considered for the scholarship once they are admitted to the university.
The Quadrangle Award is automatically given to students who are graduates of non-accredited high schools or who were home-schooled and who are Missouri residents. Students must also have a composite ACT score of 30 or higher and a combined critical reading and math SAT score of 1330 or higher. The award is worth $2,000 per year and is renewable for an additional three years.
Other University of Missouri automatic scholarships include the Mizzou Scholars Award. To qualify for this scholarship students must have a composite ACT score of 33 or higher or a combined math and critical reading score SAT score of 1440 or higher by December 1st of their senior year in high school. In addition, students must have an excellent academic record in high school. The scholarship is worth $10,000 per year. University applications must be submitted by December 1st of the student’s senior year to be considered. The scholarship is renewable for an additional three years.
Students with high enough SAT or ACT scores may also wish to be considered for the Chancellor’s Scholarship. Although not among the University of Missouri automatic scholarships, it is a scholarship worthy of applying for. In order to qualify for this scholarship students must have a composite ACT score of 33 or higher or a combined math and critical reading score on the SAT of 1440 or higher. Scores must be earned and submitted by December 1st of the applicant’s senior year in high school. Applicants must also have an excellent academic record in high school. The award amount for this likely unclaimed scholarship is worth full fees, room and board and books for one year. The scholarship is renewable for up to three years. One recipient is selected for this scholarship based on interviews and essays.
The Diversity Award is available for students who have a competitive high school academic record. Record includes class rank, grades and SAT or Act scores. Students must also be a member of an ethnic group that is under-represented in higher education in Missouri. Award amount is $2,500 per year for Missouri residents and $2,500 for non-residents. Like all University of Missouri automatic scholarships, no separate scholarship application is necessary.
